Kilo Quintana roo (tri- bike)

The Kilo's greatest claim to fame is the fact that it's responsible for getting more triathletes hooked on the sport than any other bike in its class. Its lightweight AN-6 aluminum frame provides exhilarating acceleration and the Real-Design Aero carbon fork gives you a fast, smooth ride. QR's tri-specific geometry combined with Vision aero bars put you in the perfect position for speed and aerodynamics. Plus, the easy-rolling Alex 220 wheels and crisp-shifting FSA/Shimano 20-speed drivetrain make it easy to blast races and centuries and enjoy easy Sunday rides, too.

For years, steel was the racing standard. And we wrote the book on cross-country steel. These might look like old school rigs, but there’s nothing outdated or outmoded about the way they blaze down the trail. For guys who know how to ride and flow, these bikes are absolute scorchers.
Reynolds 853 and 631 air-hardened steel gives the Dragon’s chassis lightweight strength and an amazingly supple ride. Power up on the pedals and you’ll simply feel…energized. This is a frame that gives as much as it gets, so the harder you push it the better it feels.
Perfect geometry is more than mere lengths and angles. It’s knowing where to place the cable stops for the most frictionless routing, it’s designing dropouts that help shore up the critical seatstay/chainstay junction, it’s knowing precisely how 853 steel stiffens in the weld zone, and using that to advantage when it comes to butting the tubes for ride tuning.
Whether you’re after the no-holds-barred Pro, the race-ready Comp, or want to use the custom-painted 15th anniversary Team frameset as the starting point for your dream bike, one thing is for sure—you’re not just getting the best steel chassis money can buy. You’re getting the benefit of nearly two decades of hard-won, off-road racing know-how. And you can take that to the trailhead.
Turner Sultan (come by and see this bike built up!)

The Sultan is a full-suspension XC frame for riders who love the speed, plushness, and flow provided by 29-inch wheels.
Two big 29-inch wheels spinning down the trail... For some guys it's the ultimate feeling in off-road riding. We took a conservative approach in designing the 2007 Turner Sultan 29'er. The result is an awesome trail bike that exploits the larger wheel's advantages (faster speed, bigger tire contact patch, and greater gyroscopic stability) without compromising the performance characteristics that every Turner frame is famous for. The Sultan's geometry is designed to work with, not against, 29-inch wheels to achieve neutral handling, and can be easily set up with a variety of 3 to 5 inch travel forks. The Sultan features a big wheel variant of our famed Turner rocker suspension to deliver the same plushness and pedaling efficiency as our 26-inch suspension frames
Santa Cruz Superlight

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Leonardo Da Vinci was onto something when he uttered those words. Albert Einstein had Leo's back a few centuries later when he said "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." They might as well have been talking about the Superlight: 100mm of rear travel courtesy of a clean single pivot placed to deliver compliant and effective suspension with a minimum of fuss, crafted in an elegant aluminum frame that is light yet stiff, simple but efficient. The Superlight epitomizes high performance without all the bells and whistles. Who needs bells and whistles anyway? You never see ninjas asking for bells and whistles, do you?
Santa Cruz Heckler

Over the years since its introduction, the Heckler has undergone a steady evolution and made a lot of friends along the way. Not wanting to alienate any of those friends, we thought long and hard before pulling the trigger on the latest version of everyone’s favorite workhorse. We retained the long-legged, mellow handling geometry, bumped the rear travel up slightly to 150mm, designed the chassis around a 140mm-travel fork, built it strong with a 15mm diameter pivot axle and gusseted tubing, but kept it light with a 6.4lb frame and shock weight.
If bikes could be thought of in human athletic terms, some could be compared to marathon runners, and some could be thought of more like wrestlers. Somewhere in the middle, you’d find the Heckler. A damn good rugby player. Even got a built-in bottle opener..
Jamis Ventura (get on the road for around $500)

Ventura Sport proves you don’t need to break the bank to get a serious road bike. A name-brand Kinesis-tubed aluminum frame, lightweight aluminum fork and Shimano STI levers give it high-dollar feel and durability with the over-sized 31.8 handlebar and stem providing out-of-saddle sprinting support. A woman’s specific model rounds out the size range for ergonomic comfort and the added efficiency that comes from a perfect fit.
